When a person feels safe and at ease and accepting inside he can open his heart towards himself or towards others around him. He can feel love.
When there is or was some kind of trauma in a person's life (not being loved, noticed or accepted as should etc.) he is stuck with painful feelings surrounded by a protective shield. This not only acts to protect the person from pain, but also blocks other positive experiences. Furthermore this shield not only blocks out but also locks pain in. The person's system is thus unable to release the toxic traumatic material that is lodged inside the shield.
In order to heal, regain an authentic sense of self and learn to open ones heart, a person needs to re-experience the trauma and then release a wide range of emotions, thoughts, sensations and images associated with the traumatic experience.
I propose an experiential workshop which will combine traditional psychological tools with energy based tools. The participants will experience the use of shouting as the expressive mode to penetrate the shield of defense and release some of the entrapped energy. This will enable them to connect to and experience their inner power, their vitality, and opening their heart.
I want to invite people to experience this type of combined therapy and learn to use it as a tool to help others.
My intention is to share my experience as a veteran family therapist in using this integrated methodology of treatment.
