Millions of families migrate each year, many by force and some by choice. Working with these families require multiple skills: capacity for ignorance and empathy, cross-cultural sensitivity, understanding the culture of poverty and disinfranchisement, awareness of the tensions between identity and adaptation, and understanding of the normative evolutionary cycle of the family and of process of migration. Dr. Sluzki will cover those issues, and discuss clinical cases submitted by himself and invited from the participants.
