We know now that the relational and systemic intervention is no longer directed only to the traditional family, but also for families separated and step families. Our clinical practice in recent years, in collaboration with the courts and community services brought us to make some reflections on the intervention model to be prepared in these situations. Often the work starts with the request by the referrers to offer courses in mediation and neutral spaces, where the conflict between the parents put their children in a state of great suffering for which they are often forced to “choose” and side with one of the two figures. The boys on many occasions appear stuck in a conflict of loyalties very strong and disabling effect that very often hesitate to abstain for long years to have relations with the non custodial parent. Thus becomes very relevant users the opportunity to suggest a work of family therapy that face directed to all other interventions foreseen. If patients are unable to embrace the need, this option is suggested to the Judge and / or local services referrers. Our presentation will focus on the description of some clinical cases compared with families facing this kind of difficulty in different moments of their life cycle and which in part belong to stepfamilies.
