Phenomenology is a philosophical approach that questions the roots of lived experience by suspending any preconceived theories. In a constructivist prospect referring to phenomenology we will ask why TV series are so popular nowadays. As family therapist, we will illustrate the different steps of psychotherapy through the medium of 2 TV series: Dexter” and “Breaking Bad.
The heroes of this two TV series, Walter White in Breaking Bad and Dexter Morgan in Dexter, are respectively a drug dealer and a serial killer. In a common sense we can qualify them of bad people. Then we will ask how we can love bad people and how they can change or not. According to us these clinical case are powerful tools for training in family therapy and systemic practice.
